About me
I quilt because I have an ongoing love affair with
fabric. After a failed attempt at a theatre costuming
degree, my profession is in the comic book industry. I
will always have that love affair with fabric and
quilting has given me the opportunity to continue to sew.
After beginning with traditional patterns, I now work
with original and contemporary designs for my art quilts.
I use electronic components, as well as fusibles, yarns, jewels, and various other media to
embellish my work. My quilts are all pieced, appliqued,
and quilted by machine. My themes and subjects vary, from
simple shapes, abstracts, to realistic interpretations of
still lifes and portraits. My work is small, often under
6 inches sqaure, and I have traded baseball-card sized
works around the world via the internet since 2006.
I am influenced by my other hobbies and interests,
including comics books, science fiction, Japanese manga,
anime and culture, and cute iconography, such as Hello
Kitty and Pucca. Currently, I am working on my weekly
series in 2011, as well as projects using etextiles and smart textiles.
I am currently fascinated by the intersection of technology and fabrics.
You can buy my work and e-textile supplies on my Shop page .
