Adventures in Hexagons…the book and a GIVEAWAY!

You know I love handwork.  But that’s not the only thing in my friend Emily Breclaw’s new book, Adventures in Hexagons!

What I love about her book is that there are so so sew many ways to construct your hexies and other shapes (like “kites”, diamonds, and more).  The super illustrations show you how to hand piece, machine piece, and EPP (that’s English Paper Piecing).  And not just that, there’s even a bunch of different cutting methods, as well as basting methods.  I thought I knew all there was to EPP and hexies, and this book is super valuable if you love working with those shapes.   Plus, there’s so many awesome quilts in this book.

I had to break down and bring some more hexies with me on my recent business trip, I was so inspired. I basted through my papers, but be sure to check out Emily’s book for a cool trick that allows you to reuse your papers!
