Blog Hop Stop #8 – Pokey Bolton

catherine 3It is without a doubt that I would not be where I am today in the quilting world without Pokey Bolton.   How I got here is a pretty simple and silly story:  I was a Quilting Arts Magazine GROUPIE.  I followed Pokey’s blog religiously, and I commented ALOT.  So much so, in fact, that at IQF Chicago in 2008, Pokey recognized my name when drawing it out of the bucket for a Make It University class. (That’s right, I have a blog post about the day we met in person. Thank goodness for blogs, right?)

dsc_0454From there, it just sort of grew to asking me to moderate the Quilting Arts forums (which I still do), and then to being part of the gang at IQF Surviving the Runway, to being in the magazine, in the digital magazine, teaching at Make It U, being on Quilting Arts TV, demoing in Open Studios, being on Quilting Arts TV again, teaching at Create on the Spot…  I owe all of this to Pokey.  She saw the talent in me and made it blossom.  She encouraged me every step of the way. It was a lot of hard work, but it was so worth it!  Without her, I would not be this far along in my career.

It isn’t just business anymore, we are friends, and I’m thrilled for her on each step of her journey in life. She’s incredibly busy, I never know how she was able to do it all, and with her being so busy it’s a complete honor for her to be part of my DVD Blog Hop.

Please stop by her blog for today’s Blog Hop Stop and check out her amazing adventures too!

Be sure to check out the rest of the hop too!
