Blogger’s Quilt Festival! Fall 2014 Edition!
I am so incredibly stoked to once again have something finished in time to show in the Blogger’s Quilt Festival, which is so much fun. I love seeing the work by everyone else, and I’m glad you’re here to see my work! My entry is a little ROYGBIV table runner, using a pleats technique from my DVD, Heirloom Sewing Techniques for Today’s Quilter.
You quilt the background before opening up the pleats, so it’s like a mini-reveal when it’s all done!! This is an INCREDIBLY easy project to do. My DVD tells you how to make the pleat blocks, and I just alternated them with a 3 inch strip of fabric on the top or bottom of each so they look like they are undulating. Add a 3 inch border, quilt, and then get ready to open the pleats!
I used a matching thread to tack each pleat open, again in an undulating pattern. I’m so happy how this turned out! You can see it in Houston at International Quilt Festival in booth #144, where I will be teaching another technique from the DVD, Heirloom Smocking!
Thanks for stopping by!!!
