The QATV Blog Hop Stop – Plus a Giveaway!
What a great idea it was to introduce everyone from this season of Quilting Arts TV by doing a blog hop! I’ve been on the show a few fair number of times, and I have even had people tell me they recognize me by my hair, which is pretty neat!
Here’s a few behind the scenes photos of the show and set…
Make up! I do my own hair for the show, but I had it colored the week before by my very talented stylist Cara.
Selfie time! I’m known to post these fun selfies on Instagram all the time.
Susan and I taped an episode about using Sharpie markers for tie dye effects on fabric!
We also taped one about using shaving cream to make marbled prints on your fabric with acrylic inks.
Sounds like fun, right? I can’t wait for you to try these methods in your fiber art.
To that end, I’m giving away a 24 pack of Sharpie Markers so you can try this at home! And you can also use them for your journaling, drawing, and other stuff too. Here are the rules:
1. Please only enter one time. Multiple entries will be disqualified. (Comments are moderated, so you won’t see your entry online right away)
2. International entries are welcome!
3. You must leave me a way to contact you, so please leave your valid email address when leaving a comment.
4. The drawing will be open until Tuesday July 29th at 5:00 PM CST.

Guess Who is in Quilting Arts Magazine This Month?
Three guesses and the first two don’t count! I’m in the latest issue of QA Magazine with an article on how to do Suminagashi fabric marbling!
The day I took the process photos I had the PERFECT amount of no breeze. The suminigashi effect was working out so well! But man, I needed to at least do my HAIR! ha ha I didn’t expect you to see that in the magazine! Go out and get your copy and be sure to let me know what you think!
My DVD is here!
Well, this special day has arrived… the one where my DVDs showed up and I got to hold one in my hot little hands.
I wasn’t really expecting them, so I wasn’t dressed for the occasion! ha ha Anyway, I had been sent proofs of the cover and back covers already, so I knew what it would look like mostly. But it was pretty cool to finally get them and crack one open to see what the insides looked like.
I have to say I like how pretty the cover looks and seeing my name screened onto the DVD itself was a special thrill.
If you are interested in getting one directly from me, these are now available in my shop. I can include a signed card for you to insert inside your DVD cover.
It’s been an exciting ride to have something so “real” with your name on it. It was a lot of hard work, practice, and fretting. Having a product with my name on it was a big “bucket list” goal of mine for my quilt business, and it’s finally here.
So much is going on lately, and I have big news and fun stuff planned for the next two weeks. Stay tuned, everyone!
I’ve Been Published! – Quilting Arts #67 Feb/Mar 2014
I’m proud to be part of the latest issue of Quilting Arts! If you have been following my blog you know I love love LOVE vintage textiles. Some I can’t bear to alter, but I find myself getting drawn in to others that I can’t resist even though they have seen lots of love (read:stains). I spent lots of time this summer “dyeing” them with paint! And now I need to replenish my stash… oh woe is me! 🙂
I hope you get a copy of the latest issue and check it out!
See Me On Quilting Arts Season 13!
That’s right! In just a couple more weeks, season 13 of Quilting Arts TV will be hitting the PBS airwaves and you can catch me in 4 more episodes! Including an all new Dimensional Sewing Segment, since that’s what lots of people have been asking me about! I hope you will tune in!
