It’s Krampusnacht! Gruß vom Krampus!
It’s not often you have the right quilt for a pretty obscure holiday, but I love my little Cartoony version of the Krampus. Not familiar with who the Krampus is? According to Wikipedia, in folklore, Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure described as “half-goat, half-demon”, who, during the Christmas season, punishes children who have misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards the well-behaved with gifts. So Krampus was this obscure thing for a long time, and I knew of him from vintage Christmas post cards from Germany. Now the Krampus is everywhere, including comic books, movies, and bad tv references. Dec 5th is the night that Krampus appears in the streets! So Gruß vom Krampus (Greetings from Krampus)!
Want to make a Krampus like this one? I’ll be teaching Cartooning for Quilters in Napa CA at Craft Napa in January 2018. You can create all sorts of creatures, animals, people and more. Click here to find out more.
The QATV Blog Hop Stop – Plus a Giveaway!
What a great idea it was to introduce everyone from this season of Quilting Arts TV by doing a blog hop! I’ve been on the show a few fair number of times, and I have even had people tell me they recognize me by my hair, which is pretty neat!
Here’s a few behind the scenes photos of the show and set…
Make up! I do my own hair for the show, but I had it colored the week before by my very talented stylist Cara.
Selfie time! I’m known to post these fun selfies on Instagram all the time.
Susan and I taped an episode about using Sharpie markers for tie dye effects on fabric!
We also taped one about using shaving cream to make marbled prints on your fabric with acrylic inks.
Sounds like fun, right? I can’t wait for you to try these methods in your fiber art.
To that end, I’m giving away a 24 pack of Sharpie Markers so you can try this at home! And you can also use them for your journaling, drawing, and other stuff too. Here are the rules:
1. Please only enter one time. Multiple entries will be disqualified. (Comments are moderated, so you won’t see your entry online right away)
2. International entries are welcome!
3. You must leave me a way to contact you, so please leave your valid email address when leaving a comment.
4. The drawing will be open until Tuesday July 29th at 5:00 PM CST.

My DVD is here!
Well, this special day has arrived… the one where my DVDs showed up and I got to hold one in my hot little hands.
I wasn’t really expecting them, so I wasn’t dressed for the occasion! ha ha Anyway, I had been sent proofs of the cover and back covers already, so I knew what it would look like mostly. But it was pretty cool to finally get them and crack one open to see what the insides looked like.
I have to say I like how pretty the cover looks and seeing my name screened onto the DVD itself was a special thrill.
If you are interested in getting one directly from me, these are now available in my shop. I can include a signed card for you to insert inside your DVD cover.
It’s been an exciting ride to have something so “real” with your name on it. It was a lot of hard work, practice, and fretting. Having a product with my name on it was a big “bucket list” goal of mine for my quilt business, and it’s finally here.
So much is going on lately, and I have big news and fun stuff planned for the next two weeks. Stay tuned, everyone!

New Ribbon Added to My Collection
I was super elated to find out that Geshwindigkeit (Speed) took a Judges Choice ribbon at Quilt Fest Savannah! My friend Kristin, who operates Fiber On A Whim with her mom, Jan, were at the show and grabbed this pic of the quilt hanging with the ribbon!!
