Star Wars Quiltlet 4- Yoda
Do, or do not…there is no try.
I remember Star Wars in the movie theatre, but the one that stuck with me was Empire Strikes Back. I was old enough to know what was going on, and the line from Yoda to Luke about moving past that mental block really stuck with me. I’m the kind of person who “gets it done” in a crisis or stressful time. Maybe it was because of Master Yoda.
I got the idea to do this lil Yoda in the middle of the class I took from Lyric Kinard back in March. In my sketchbook, above one of my exercises for class, I doodled a little Yoda. After refining the sketch, I put my fabrics to work. All of my Star Wars quiltlets are done in Cherrywood Fabrics, those gorgeous hand dyes. I accentuated Yoda’s wrinkles with a grey fabric marker.
I hope you like him, as he finishes up March’s Weekly Quilt series, and I’m off to work on all of April and May.
Star Wars Quiltlet 3- Princess Leia
I always wanted to be Princess Leia. What girl who loved those movies didn’t want to be her? She had a gun, she was a Senator, she told off Grand Moff Tarkin…she was bad-ass!
I have had a lot of fun designing these little Star Wars cuties. I’m starting to think ahead to my next series for next month. I have a bunch of ideas…
Star Wars Quiltlet 2- Light Up Jawa
This weekly quilt is actually being given away to a lucky friend who likes Star Wars, specifically R2D2 and Jawas. As I was making light up projects, said friend was encouraging and I thought this would make a great birthday present, which is next week. Happy Birthday!
Weekly Quilts – February’s theme
I’m a geek. I’m also a nerd. Possibly a dweeb. But one thing is for sure. I have always loved Star Wars. My husband is a bigger Star Wars fan than I am. And we both love Darth Vader.
This month’s themed quilts are all Star Wars! I hope you enjoy this mini Vader.
Wait til you see the rest! Stay tuned all this month! (I just realized I hadn’t posted the rest of the “rabbit” quilts from January! Yikes! I will get right on that.)
