Cecilia Swatton Kaleidoscope Stencils Blog Hop!
Once again, the fine folks at Artistcellar asked me to see what magic I can make out of the newest line of stencils, this one by the amazing Cecilia Swatton!!
Now, this one had me a bit stumped, because I love the kaleidoscope feel of them, but knew that if I used this like a traditional stencil, that the design I wanted would be in reverse… I wanted the closed parts to be black, like the leading of stained glass!
That led me to use the stencil on some fabric with fusible on it. I worked from the paper side and then cut away all the “windows”. That left me with a piece of fabric that I can fuse down to any other fabric and get the “peek-a-boo” effect I want.
Here’s how it looks on some commercial fabrics!
Aren’t they awesome? I plan to make additional blocks and put them into a miniature quilt or table runner!
Now it’s your turn! Want to win a set of your own? Comment below and you will win a set! Comments will be open until Nov 3rd, and then I will pick a winner.
